Nothing’s CEO Cal Pei recently took to X (previously known as Twitter) and shared a few photos of the upcoming Nothing phone. A fourth button was clearly visible in the pictures and it is expected to be present in Nothing Phone 3 because this button has never been seen on any previous model of the Nothing series. However, the Apple iPhone 16 series is yet-to-be launched soon and expected to feature a new ‘Action’ button.

Pictures shared by Pei also showcased updates regarding the Nothing OS user interface, hinting at some intriguing software changes as well.

The previous models of the Nothing series the Phone 1, Phone 2 and Phone 2a all possessed three buttons, two are volume buttons over the left and one is the power button over the right side. But, as mentioned earlier, the fourth button that was spotted in Pei’s photos is on the right side. However, the purpose of this fourth button is still unveiled.

Reports suggested that the new action button in Apple iPhone 16 might perform several functions which includes acting as a camera shutter release button, it is also expected to provide other customisable actions, supporting Apple’s AI features in the upcoming iOS.

Furthermore, Nothing has recently announced the integration of ChatGPT in the upcoming Nothing OS model which initiates the possibility that this new button might perform the same function like Apple’s action button and act as an AI button to provide rapid access to its features.

It is also expected to feature a Snapdragon 8-series chip and enhanced unique Glyph LED lights. The release date is yet to be unveiled; however, it is expected to be launched soon.
