In a newly-released YouTube announcement, OnePlus has introduced the Nord CE4 Lite, delivering a full-fledged OnePlus experience to UK users and others globally at a competitive price of £299.
For those not familiar with OnePlus terminology, CE stands for Core Edition, indicating this is an affordable yet well-equipped member of the mid-priced Nord family. Last year’s model, the Nord CE3 Lite, was launched in the US as the OnePlus Nord N30. It’s anticipated that the new Nord CE4 Lite may similarly be rebranded as the Nord N40 for US users later this year.
The Nord CE4 Lite is expected to inherit the spot on the "best cheap phones" list currently held by the Nord N30 and could potentially challenge the reigning budget champion, the Google Pixel 8a. Pre-orders are open now, with the full retail release scheduled for July 1.

Key features and specifications
The Nord CE4 Lite boasts a 120Hz 6.67-inch OLED display with Full HD resolution, a notable upgrade in screen size and quality for this price range. This display technology matches that of the flagship OnePlus 11 and promises a peak brightness of 2,100 nits, significantly brighter than both its predecessor and the Pixel 8a.
Users can toggle the display between a 120Hz or 60Hz refresh rate. Although it doesn't dynamically adjust like flagship models, it offers a balance between smooth scrolling and battery efficiency.
Additionally, the display includes 480Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain and Aqua Touch technology, seen on the OnePlus 12, enhancing usability in wet conditions.
Audio and design
The Nord CE4 Lite retains the 300% "Ultra Volume" mode from the Nord CE3 Lite, enabling super-high volume output through its stereo speakers. For those who prefer a more private listening experience, the device includes a headphone jack, eliminating the need for Bluetooth connections.
Available in Super Silver and Mega Blue, the Nord CE4 Lite offers stylish design choices. The silver model, while visually appealing, tends to attract fingerprints, whereas the blue variant is reportedly more resistant to smudges.
With these compelling features and a price tag of just £299, the Nord CE4 Lite stands out as a strong contender in the budget smartphone market, promising a premium experience without the flagship price.
