OpenAI has released its innovative Swarm Framework, an open-source project enabling developers to create multi-agent artificial intelligence (AI) systems. These systems can autonomously complete tasks and goals while cooperating.

What is Swarm Framework?

Swarm Framework is a comprehensive toolkit for the construction, orchestration and deployment of multi-agent systems. The technology marks the long-awaited leap in AI gold rush in making AI-complete tasks on behalf of the user.

Limitations of current AI model

The current usage of AI has been majorly built around high utilisation of large language models (LLM) for general purposes. The models, however, have limitations; for example, instant answers are given without solid reasoning.

OpenAI System 2 tech model

System 2 tech AI models, like OpenAI's o1 model, add in the ability to reason and longer thinking times. This functionality would enhance the quality of the AI output.

Agentic AI model

Agentic AI is about enabling software agents that can work autonomously to accomplish tasks as well as user-defined goals. The Swarm Framework would make it easier to develop and deploy these agents.

The power gained through backend LLMs would fuel an outcome revolution of software applications from the cloud, the software as a service (SaaS)-based software applications to, Outcome-as-a-Service (OaaS).
