
Following a hiatus spanning 64 years, one of the oldest business group in Pakistan named Ferozsons today rejoined Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today on October 21, 2024, to register one of its companies.
Ferozsons is renowned as one of the biggest publishing companies established in 1894 in then India.
As the biggest segment of the healthcare industry fell within the Indian territory at the time of partition, one of the family members set up one of the first pharmaceutical factories in Pakistan in the 1950s and became the first and biggest pharmaceutical firms listed at that time.

The company also stepped into the limelight for producing remdesivir during the Covid-19 pandemic and is now going to produce a new effective HIV preventive in collaboration with Gilead Sciences.
Tests conducted in the inspection phase of the Ferozsons-made HIV cure showed that two HIV prevention shots a year warded off nearly every HIV case.
The company's 1950 venture into Pakistani pharma industry led the family to establish Ferozsons Laboratories as one of Pakistan's first pharma giants.
