Internet users across Pakistan continue to face disruptions, particularly during peak hours, more than two weeks after a fault was identified in the submarine cable AAA-1 near Qatar.
Some users have reported hindered internet service quality while accessing popular social media platforms and browsing the web, raising widespread concerns about the reliability of Internet services.
According to a spokesperson from Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), many users have resorted to an alternative sources to minimise disruptions caused by the cable fault.
The fault, first detected on January 2, is located near Qatar. Efforts to repair the submarine cable are actively underway to restore full functionality. The delay in resolving the issue has sparked concerns about long-term impacts on Pakistan’s digital infrastructure.
The spokesperson said that additional bandwidth has been arranged to streamline internet operations.
PTCL reassured customers that all necessary measures are being implemented to resolve the issue soon. However, users should anticipate minor service interruptions until the fault is fully repaired, especially during peak traffic hours.
