The Punjab Police has introduced a new digital driving license system that lets drivers in the province carry and verify their licenses on their smartphones.

This move is part of a bigger push to make public services digital and improve road safety in Punjab.

Punjab's digital driving license information system

Launched by Traffic Police Punjab, the system allows drivers of motorcycles, cars, and heavy vehicles to carry a valid e-license, which is now officially accepted by law enforcement. This will make checking licenses quicker and reduce the number of drivers without licenses.

Drivers can download their digital driving license easily by visiting the official website of the digital driving license information system (DLIMS ). Here's how:

    1. Go to “License Information”
    2. Click on “E-License”
    3. Enter your CNIC number and date of birth
    4. Click “Download” to get a PDF version of your license

To apply for a license, drivers need to pay a Rs150 driving test fee. The license fee depends on how long it will be valid:

    • 1 year: Rs1,980
    • 2 years: Rs3,330
    • 3 years: Rs4,680
    • 4 years: Rs6,030
    • 5 years: Rs7,380

The new system is part of the Punjab government’s plan to improve traffic rules compliance and bring digital innovation to public services. Police have warned that those driving without a valid license can face fines and legal action.
