Redmi A5 rumoured launch: Successor to A4 5G with Unisoc T615 chipset

Redmi is expected to launch its upcoming handset, Redmi A5 with Unisoc T615 chipset as a successor to the A4 5G variant. The rumoured handset recently appeared on the IMEI database indicating an imminent release. 

Several reports suggested the upcoming Redmi A5 is likely to be launched in select global markets as the Poco C71, reflecting Redmi's cross-brand strategy.

According to XiaomiTime, the Redmi A5 is expected to be equipped with the Unisoc T615 processor. The phone reportedly carries the model number C3Z. Reports suggested the “Mi code” shows “C3Z = UMS9230E,” suggesting that the phone will be powered by the Unisoc T615 chipset.

The Unisoc T615 chipset supports two ARM Cortex-A75 cores, six Cortex-A55 cores, and an ARM Mali-G57 MP1 GPU. The processor supports LPDDR4x memory and both eMMC5.1 and UFS2.2 storage.

Other reports suggested the purported Redmi A5 previously appeared on the FCC website with the 25028RN03L codename. In addition, it appeared with the codename 25028RN03Y on the IMEI database.  

The FCC listing suggested the rumoured Redmi A5 is expected to run on Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0 skin on top. Furthermore, it is likely to support RAM and storage configurations 3GB + 64GB, 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. 

For connectivity, the options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth. the Redmi A5 is expected to offer efficient hardware and a budget-friendly approach while maintaining competitive features for its price segment.
