The Redmi Note 13 series, initially exclusive to China, is set to launch in India on January 4, 2024. Meanwhile, rumours are circulating about its potential successor, the Redmi Note 14, with a focus on competing with the Realme 12 series.
Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo has claimed that Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce the Redmi Note 14 series in China. These rumoured devices are expected to compete directly with the Realme 12 lineup, sharing a similar price range and camera-focused specifications.
Redmi Note 14 series: Expected lineup and features
Similar to its predecessor, the Redmi Note 14 series is anticipated to include three models: Redmi Note 14, Redmi Note 14 Pro, and Redmi Note 14 Pro+. These devices are speculated to feature curved displays and target the camera-focused smartphone market.
While details about the Realme 12 series are yet to be officially disclosed, references to Realme 12, Realme 12 Pro, and Redmi 12 Pro+ have reportedly appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website. These references suggest an imminent launch in the Indian market, with a shared reliance on Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC.
Redmi Note 13 series Overview
The Redmi Note 13 series, launched in September with a starting price of CNY 1,199 in China, is confirmed to feature in India on January 4. Running on Android 13-based MIUI 14, the lineup boasts a 6.67-inch 1.5K full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Specifications and pricing
The Redmi Note 13 is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC, while the Pro model runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. The Pro+ variant is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra SoC.
Notably, the lineup offers impressive camera capabilities, with the Redmi Note 13 featuring a 100-megapixel primary sensor and the Pro models sporting triple rear cameras, led by a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP3 sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS).
All models in the Redmi Note 13 series incorporate a 16-megapixel front-facing camera to enhance the overall photography experience for users.
