Following the success of the iPhone 15 series, Apple is now gearing up to launch its successor iPhone 16 later this year. With only a few months left, the upcoming smartphone has already been subject to several leaks and rumours regarding larger screens, enhanced cameras and AI features.
Another leak suggests that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will feature more RAM and faster Wi-Fi capabilities, among other improvements.
Analyst Jeff Pu claimed that iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will be powered by Apple’s 3nm A18 chipset. While the Pro models in the lineup are expected to run on an A18 Pro processor.
The next lineup is also expected to get a RAM boost; the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are likely to get 8GB RAM — a step up from the 6GB RAM in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
Meanwhile, the two non-pro models of iPhone 16 will feature the Qualcomm X70 modem present on the entire iPhone 15 lineup and the iPhone 16 Pro models will get the Qualcomm X75 modem — which means the Pro models will offer faster 5G speeds.
It was also learnt that Pro models will likely get support from the recently launched Wi-Fi 7 while the two non-pro iPhone models will get Wi-Fi 6E support.
Despite all the new features, earlier this month Barclays predicted that demand for the iPhone 16 will likely be slow.
