Samsung has officially unveiled the highly anticipated Samsung S2 Ultra at the Galaxy Unpacked Event 2025. Following the groundbreaking announcements and revolutionary launches, Chinese tech manufacturers such as Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo, are allegedly developing ultra-thin smartphones to outdo the recently teased Galaxy S25 Edge.

Taking to Weibo, a credible tipster, Digital Chat Station, said that these rumoured smartphones promise to deliver an enhanced user experience with premium features at mid-range and sub-range models instead of top-tier devices.

These phones are likely to be powered by enlarged batteries (4,500mAh and more) in contrast to the thinner handsets from Samsung and Apple.

Meanwhile, Apple, the Cupertino-based tech giant, is also reportedly working on a thinner iPhone 17 Air version, part of its forthcoming iPhone 17 series.

The rumoured iPhone 17 Air is likely to feature a smaller battery, ranging between 3,000mAh and 4,000mAh, in contrast to other models in the lineup, which will include the base, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max variants.

The shift towards ultra-thin phones by the South Korean-based tech giant, Apple, and Chinese OEMs hinted at an increased focus on sleek designs, even as battery performance takes centre stage in the competitive landscape.
