Galaxy Z Flip 6 launch schedule

To have a idea of when the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will release, we need to have a look at the timeline of previous releases in the Flip series.

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 — August 27, 2021
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 — August 26, 2022
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 — August 11, 2023

While the timeline follows a monotony, Android Authority, citing sources, claimed that the company might launch Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 a bit earlier in July. And to be more precise, on Wednesday of the second week, which means we can expect to get our hands on it on July 10, 2024.

Specifications of Galaxy Z Flip 6

There are rumours circulating about a potential larger battery for the Flip 6. It is claimed that Samsung was testing a 3,880mAh capacity for the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s battery, which could potentially be marketed as 4,000mAh. Along with a processor upgrade, this could mean an improved battery life for the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Additionally, there are other anticipated changes as the company is reportedly testing early versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 with prototypes featuring a 50MP main camera. However, it is possible that Samsung may decide to stick with a 12MP camera instead. Nonetheless, if true, this change could signify a significant improvement in photography for the Flip series.

Galaxy Z Flip 6 design and display

The leaked renders show that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected to have a similar design to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, with a clamshell shape and boxy design. However, the Z Flip 6 appears to have a slightly boxier shape with sharper edges compared to the Z Flip 5.

It is rumoured to have a 3.4-inch cover display and a 6.7-inch inner folding display, although another report suggests the cover display could be closer to 3.9 inches. The Z Flip 6 is expected to measure about 165.0 x 71.7 x 7.4mm, slightly larger than the Z Flip 5, indicating a potential increase in battery size.

Galaxy Z Flip 6 price

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 8GB/256GB: $999.99
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 8GB/512GB: $1.119.99

Since the prices have not been tipped, we can derive conclusions based on the price tags of its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 was initially priced at approximately $1,000 in the US. $999 is often seen as an attractive price point for consumers. Given that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 doesn't seem to have many significant changes from its predecessor, it's uncertain if Samsung will maintain competitive pricing for the Flip 6 or not.
