Samsung is reportedly gearing up to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 later this year. They are expected to succeed the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, released in July 2023.
While official announcements are pending, leaked details about these upcoming foldable phones have surfaced online, hinting at significant improvements over the current models. A recent report suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could potentially be the slimmest foldable handset from Samsung yet.
Sammobile, citing tipster @RjeyTech on X (formerly Twitter) shows a mock-up comparing the expected Galaxy Z Fold 6 to the existing Galaxy Z Fold 5. The mock-up illustrates the hinge side of both book-style foldable phones, highlighting a notable difference in thickness.
When folded, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 measures 13.4mm, while the mock-up suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could slim down to just 11mm.
Although the image is not an official render of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and is instead a modified version of the current model, it offers insight into the potential design evolution. Additionally, previous reports have also hinted at a slimmer profile for the upcoming foldable device.
According to Gadgets360, sources indicate that Samsung might achieve this sleeker design by employing a titanium frame, similar to the one used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This material choice is aimed at maintaining structural integrity while reducing thickness. Notably, the Galaxy S24 Ultra measures 8.6mm in thickness, slimmer than the 8.9mm Galaxy S23 Ultra, which utilizes an aluminium chassis.

Furthermore, recent leaks suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could feature the same main camera setup as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, boasting a quad rear camera system headlined by a 200-megapixel primary sensor, along with other high-resolution sensors.
In addition to potential design and camera enhancements, Samsung is expected to offer larger displays on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 compared to its predecessor, which features a 7.6-inch primary display and a 6.2-inch cover panel. Alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, Samsung may introduce a more budget-friendly foldable handset model, possibly named the Samsung Galaxy Z FE.
