At the recent Galaxy S25 Unpacked 2025 event, Samsung quietly teased its upcoming tri-folding phone, hinting at excitement in the tech market. As part of the event, the company's product roadmap signalled at a tri-fold phone alongside XR and AR devices.

However, following competition in the tech market, Samsung aims to expand its foldable lineup with this new tri-fold device. The Galaxy S25 series was the highlight of the January Unpacked event, featuring the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

During the keynote, Samsung's Head of Customer Experience Jay Kim discussed how Gemini Live on the Galaxy S25 series will transform interactions across smartphones, wearables, and new form factors like "multi-fold" and XR devices.

Moreover, the brief roadmap presentation included a glimpse of what looked like a tri-folding phone, confirming that Samsung is working on this innovative device.

The teaser has sparked widespread interest, despite Samsung not providing official details such as the device's name or launch timeline.

Additionally, speculation around the tri-folding phone has been persistent, with several leaks suggested it might not launch until early next year.

Samsung has long been a leader in the foldable market, regularly showcasing innovative prototypes. However, it has faced growing competition in recent years, with rivals launching thinner foldable and multi-fold devices.

While the exact release date of the tri-folding phone remains unknown, it is expected to make a significant impact in the foldable device market.
