The Sindh government on Tuesday announced the second phase of the Pink Scooty Scheme to expand women's mobility and independence across the province.
Announced by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, this initiative aims to encourage women and female students by giving them pink scooters, free driving training, and a licence.
Speaking at the ceremony, Memon said: "The Sindh government wants more women to benefit from this facility and continue their educational and professional journeys with safety and dignity.”
It should be noted that the first phase of the Pink Scooty Scheme had received a strong public response, with multiple women successfully completing training and receiving scooters for their daily commute.
Memon emphasised that women's empowerment remains crucial to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) philosophy, terming the scheme a continuation of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto's vision for gender equality and mobility freedom in Pakistan.
