In an effort to empower women throughout the province, the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) has introduced the Free Electric Scooty Program Phase II, which offers free electric scooters.
The programme is intended to help working women and students travel safely and on their own.

The following are the requirements for eligibility and the application procedure:
- Must be a resident of Sindh
- Hold a valid CNIC, domicile, and PRC
- Be a student or a working woman

Fill out the application form
- Attach required documents such as CNIC copy, domicile, PRC, student or employee card, phone number, email address, and a valid driving license
- Submit documents via WhatsApp at 0309-1365354 or at the SMTA office located at 43-D, Shahra-e-Chalib, Clifton Block 2, Karachi
SMTA Free Electric Scooty Program Phase II licence requirement
- Women who own a learner's licence can submit their application and finish KFC Pakistan's free seven-day training programme.
- Candidates who possess a valid driver's licence just need to provide their supporting documentation for validation.
- Those without a licence must first use the Driving Licence Sindh website to apply online for a learner's permit.
A representative for the SMTA stated, "The Free Electric Scooty Program is a step towards empowering women and promoting their mobility across the province."
Women throughout Sindh have embraced the programme, viewing it as a fantastic chance to increase their freedom and mobility.
The Sindh government has reiterated its commitment to advancing women's mobility and empowerment in the province with the start of Phase II.
