In what appears to be an outset of a string of celestial events, six planets including Venus, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus, are going to adorn the night sky by the end of January.

The breathtaking confirmation of an extraterrestrial splendour was brought by the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco).

The celestial spectacle will be formed by the said six planets' alignment taking on the shape of a parade, hence being called a "planetary parade".

Skygazers will be able to snatch a glance at the “spectacular planetary parade” next week, The News quoted a Suparco spokesperson as saying, adding that Venus, Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn will be seen with the naked eye.

Regarding the visibility of Neptune and Uranus, it was reported that they would only be seen through a telescope.

Apart from the planetary alignment in question, the spokesperson claimed that another astronomical event will follow next month, offering a “rare seven-planet parade”.

“Though millions of miles apart, the planets seem to march together across the heavens,” the Suparco official added.

In this seven-planet parade, planets are anticipated to form a straight line when seen from Earth, making for a heavenly splendour, the spokesperson added.
