Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 tipped to get 30% costlier than predecessor

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to arrive shortly and multiple rumours are swirling around the chipset, including the key specifications and pricing. 

Recently, a tech enthusiast Yogesh Brar tipped about the processor’s price, claiming that it would be slightly higher in price compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. 

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 performance (expected)

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to get significant upgrades, as Qualcomm is said to launch it with a spate of compelling features, including the TSMC 3nm N3E process and ARM core, which would be superseded by Oryon's self-developed core.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 launch date

The upcoming chipset is organised to be unravelled by the end of the year in October at the Snapdragon Summit, however, according to a few tipsters, it might launch in 2025. 

It is reportedly to be designed to cope with Apple’s M4/ A18/ Pro processors, which seems to be affected by the rumoured price increase. 

However, other details related to Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 are still under wraps and will be revealed by its launch expected later this year or by the beginning of 2025. 

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 price

Its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is available for $190 and $200, but the upcoming one is expected to be higher in price by approximately 30% as compared to the third generation one because it is likely to integrate prominent features and be available with the latest target frequency of 4.26GHz.
