Developer Tactical Adventures has officially confirmed that Solasta 2 will launch in Early Access on Steam in early 2026, giving CRPG fans plenty to look forward to.

The next game continues the tradition of Solasta: Crown of the Magister, which was released originally in 2021 and developed a following as a tribute to traditional tabletop RPGs.

Solasta 2 aims to rival Baldur’s Gate 3

In the most recent gameplay trailer for Solasta 2, the developer showed off improved graphics, engaging turn-based combat, and more extensive roleplaying options.

Solasta 2 is trying to establish its own identity from Baldur’s Gate 3, although they are trying to replicate a more traditional Dungeons and Dragons experience.

The team from Tactical Adventures is "taking a few more weeks (months?)" to fine-tune the product before getting it out to consumers to ensure a reliable and quality product.

The previous title, Solasta, was well-received for its strict adherence to tabletop gameplay and earned a "Very Positive" designation on the Steam site.

The studio claims that with the second game, players will have even more freedom in character creation, deeper character customisation, and improved tactical systems while maintaining its roots in Dungeons and Dragons.

There is a free demo for Solasta 2 on Steam for you to get a glimpse of an upcoming RPG. With Larian Studios moving on to the next set of titles, Solasta 2 could be the next one to take the reins of the Role-playing Video Games (CRPG) universe in 2026 and keep the flame alive for traditional fantasy role-playing games.
