Tecno unveils Camon 30 series in India with 5G, powerful front cameras

The Tecno Camon 30 5G series, which includes the Tecno Camon 30 5G and Camon 30 5G, debuted in India on Saturday. The company's newest devices include MediaTek Dimensity CPUs and run HiOS 14 based on Android 14. 

In addition, the premier model has three 50-megapixel back cameras, while both handsets include a 50-megapixel front camera. Both Camon 30 phones include a 5,000mAh battery and capability for 70W cable charging.

The Tecno Camon 30 5G pricing in India starts at INR 22,999 for the 8GB RAM  with 256GB storage combination and the device is also available in a 12GB RAM with 256GB memory option priced at INR 26,999.

However, Camon 30 Premier 5G pricing in India has been fixed at INR 39,999 for the 12GB RAM with 512GB storage option. Both smartphones will be available for purchase in India starting May 23. Customers would get an instant bank discount of INR 3,000 on the Tecno Camon 30 5G and Camon 30 Premier 5G, stated the company.

The Tecno Camon 30 5G and Camon 30 Premier 5G runs on HiOS 14, an Android 14-based operating system. The base model has a 6.78-inch (1,080x2,436 pixels) full-HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and is powered by a 6nm Dimensity 7020 processor. 

However, the Premier variant includes a 6.77-inch (1,264x2,7800 pixels) 1.5K LTPO AMOLED screen that refreshes at 120Hz and a 4nm Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chip. 

Both Camon 30 5G devices include a 50-megapixel main camera for taking photographs and movies. While the ordinary model includes a 2-megapixel depth sensor, the Camon 30 Premier 5G sports a 50-megapixel telephoto camera (3x optical) and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera. On the front, both handsets offer a 50-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats. 

The Tecno Camon 30 5G comes with 256GB of storage, while the Camon 30 Premier 5G has twice as much. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, GNSS, and a USB Type-C connector. 

Moreover, sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. The phones have an IR blaster to operate compatible appliances and devices, and an in-display fingerprint scanner allows for biometric verification.
