While it may seem that the Android 15 days are long gone for good, considering the extent of traction the upcoming Android 16 has gained, those eager to install the Android 16 beta version could evade the agony of subpar experience by taking precautions.

Google has confirmed that the next Android update, Android 16, is on its way to go live in June 2025, which is earlier than the preceding Android updates, and freaks are flocking to download and install it.

Courtesy of Android Police for spilling the beans, reporting that Android 16 Beta 1, released in January, contains a host of bugs users must watch out for ahead of giving it a shot. These bugs are hampering user experience significantly.

Android 16 wallpapers and style menu

One of the top bugs in Android 16 Beta 2 required users to tap around 25 times the colour palettes in the Wallpaper & style menu to change the theme. The issue remained intact even with themed icon settings, withering away. However, here's a workaround: Changing themes through the System colours menu.

Android 16 battery limiter

Pixel phones have been featuring a charging limiter since November 2024, preventing the battery from being charged to over 80%. An Android 16 Beta 2 bug is causing these phones to charge to 100% even with the respective setting being in place. The issues have reportedly persisted despite restarting the device.

Google Home app and widgets not opening in Android 16

Some Android 16 Beta 1 reported to have encountered issues with the Google Home app, stating that it wasn't opening and displayed a "widget is not supported" error. It was temporarily addressed by reinstalling the app for some, while force-stopping and clearing the cache sufficed for others.

Android 16 Google Files app crashing with PDFs

The Google Files app is also reportedly crashing when opening PDFs. Some said the issue was eliminated temporarily after clearing the app’s cache.

Andrid 16 gesture navigation issue

Android users making use of third-party launchers on Pixel devices said the gesture navigation feature was stopping app switching from the navigation bar.
