In a major move aimed at settling TikTok US' sell-off woes, US President Donald Trump has made a bold claim regarding the sale of the Chinese short-video platform.

The US president said on Sunday that the country is in talks with four different groups interested in acquiring the social media platforms in the US, as reported by Reuters.

The development comes as the latest unfold as the TikTok divestiture for ByteDance, mandated in a ban which took effect on January 19 this year, has been in limbo for nearly two months now.

The US president also added that all of the four options were considerable. "We're dealing with four different groups, and a lot of people want it ... all four are good."

Forced either to divest of its short-form video platform or face a ban on national security grounds, the China-based TikTok parent endured the latter in January.

To temporarily render the ban ineffective after assuming office on January 20, Trump signed an executive order delaying the ban for 75 days.
