There are so many mobile carrier selections in the market these days. In fact, Verizon and Xfinity Mobile offer a wide selection of plans and features, but take radically different approaches to mobile services. Below, we outline some key differences between Verizon and Xfinity Mobile to help you decide which carrier works best for you
Verizon is a traditional carrier. They're a carrier that builds its own network, so it's not a company that holds on to any mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). Customers have many different plans, including three main, technically "unlimited" postpaid options and four prepaid options to consider.
All of Verizon's postpaid options feature unlimited 5G — the top two support it at full network speed. Verizon also has several add-ons, including hotspot data, international passes, and subscription services, such as Apple One and Netflix.
Xfinity Mobile leverages the network of Verizon with additional coverages from Xfinity Internet Service. Xfinity Mobile offers two unlimited plans and one By-the-Gig, in which unlimited plans have set amounts of high-speed data before the data is throttled. Xfinity Mobile also leverages Xfinity WiFi Hot Spots to increase the coverage area.

When it comes to signal and reception, Verizon takes the lead because of its strong LTE network that covers much of the country, with many rural areas accounted for.

In comparison, Verizon's 5G network is still developing. Xfinity Mobile, on the other hand, uses the Verizon network, so coverage is similar, but with the added benefit of Xfinity WiFi hotspots.

Verizon and Xfinity Mobile both offer a range of phone options, including high-end models like the Google Pixel 8 and Galaxy S24. Verizon also offers savings for bringing your own device, while Xfinity Mobile offers trade-in discounts.
