
Vivo is planning to build a new manufacturing plant in a special economic zone in Punjab to locally produce the company’s extensive product line of smartphones and its accessories in Pakistan.
The development came during the Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain's, third day of his visit to China.

During the visit, Vivo CEO Luke briefed the minister on the company's manufacturing process and its commitment to quality and innovation.
An agreement has been signed between the Punjab Department of Industries and Commerce and Vivo by the provincial minister and CEO of Vivo to establish the manufacturing plant.
The document was signed in the presence of top officials from both sides.
The provincial minister welcomed the agreement, emphasising Punjab's commitment to providing facilities to establish the factory.
He stated that Punjab offers a conducive environment for foreign investment, with special economic zones providing incentives for domestic and foreign investors.
This development promises to bring significant opportunities to Punjab, including job creation, technology transfer, and enhanced economic growth. Moreover, the provincial minister also met with other Chinese companies during his visit to strengthen bilateral industrial cooperation.
