Vivo has officially launched the Vivo Y29s 5G, a budget-friendly smartphone featuring 5G connectivity, a large 5500mAh battery, and the Dimensity 6300 chipset.
The phone comes with a familiar design, similar to the Vivo Y04, but with upgraded internal hardware and software.
Vivo Y29s 5G display and storage features
The Vivo Y29s 5G features a 6.56-inch IPS HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. However, its 720p resolution and 570 nits brightness might not be ideal for outdoor visibility. The phone has thin bezels, except for a slightly thicker chin, and a notch at the top for the 5MP front camera. The device runs on Funtouch OS 15, which is based on Android 15, ensuring a smooth user experience.
Additionally, at the core of the Vivo Y29s 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, an 8-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz. This processor has been optimized to take the best out of 5G and has been employed in many past Vivo devices.
The phone also features 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, giving it plenty of room for apps, photos, and videos.
Vivo Y29s 5G camera and battery features
The Vivo Y29s 5G comes with a 50MP primary camera and a 0.08MP secondary camera at the rear. The front camera is 5MP, which might be disappointing for selfie enthusiasts. The phone also features an AI Eraser option, enabling users to erase unwanted objects from images.
Moreover, the Vivo Y29s 5G has a dust and water-resistant IP64-rated body, and it's SGS-certified for military-grade ruggedness. It's powered by a 5500mAh battery with a long battery life but may be slow to charge for some users with the 15W charging speed.
The phone has been launched in Titanium Gold and Jade Green colours. While the Vivo Y29s 5G has been announced globally, its official pricing and availability are yet to be revealed.
