In its latest fortnightly revision of petroleum product prices in the country, the government of Pakistan has kept the rate of petrol in Pakistan unchanged at Rs264.61 per litre.
While the price of petrol bears no fluctuations in the bi-monthly adjustment, the price of high-speed diesel increased by Rs2.78 per litre.
It's noteworthy that Pakistan's new petrol prices, determined on the recommendation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), will take effect from September 16.
Earlier speculations about the current fuel price adjustments claimed that the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) would increase by Rs4.79 per litre, kerosene oil by Rs3.06 per litre, and light diesel by Rs3.68 per litre.
The federal government's decision to keep the petrol price unchanged is the second in consecutive sessions wherein it has occurred.
