WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature for Android users, which introduces new filters to review the shared media in chats.
WABetaInfo reported that the Meta-owned instant messaging platform is releasing a redesigned interface to help select users review their photos, videos and shared content within conversations with new filter options.
A WhatsApp feature tracker said that the new filter options are available in WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.25.31.10 via the Google Play Store; however, the instant messaging platform is planning to launch the feature to a wider audience in the near future.
How do new filter options work on WhatsApp?
According to WABetaInfo, a redesigned version of the Media, Links, and Documents section is available on the chat info page, while it provide an overview of all the shared content in a chat on WhatsApp.
Users can reportedly choose from Photos, Videos, Documents, and Link tabs, which now appear as specific filter chips rather than tabs.
There is another Stickers filter to help users search for and find stickers shared in the selected conversation. The feature is expected to provide more precise control over content discovery and facilitate users in finding specific items.
