WhatsApp has reportedly launched the most-awaited 'Mention All' feature with its latest beta update, offering beta Android users in group chat to get everyone's attention at once.

WABetaInfo reported that Meta-owned instant messaging platform introduced a preset '@all' command within the mention menu that allows you to mention everyone in group chat, ensuring that important message is delivered to everyone, regardless of notification settings.

The feature is currently available to select beta testers via the latest update 2.25.31.9 from the Google Play Store. A WhatsApp feature tracker said that using the '@all' command, you can alert everyone at once, rather than tagging members separately.

How does 'Mention All' feature work on WhatsApp?

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is setting up rules for the 'Mention All' feature, based on group size. In small groups, everyone can use the feature to tag all the members, while in large groups, only admins can use the feature to avoid spam and excessive alerts.

It should be noted that WhatsApp considers a group with over 32 members as a large group. The feature is expected to improve clarity and coordination, particularly in groups.

Moreover, the instant messaging platform is reportedly adding a new option that allows you to mute notifications from '@all' in any group. WhatsApp is likely to launch the feature to a wider audience shortly.
