Xiaomi 15 series might offer curved 2K display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

The Xiaomi 14 series, launched in October in China last year with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and HyperOS operating system, is yet to debut in India. However, rumours about the upcoming Xiaomi 15 series have long begun emerging.

Out of the spate of rumours and reports circulating on the internet, the latest one is that of Gadgets360, citing tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo, claiming that the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are expected to be officially unveiled in September, featuring the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC and displays with a 1.5K resolution. It's worth noting that the Xiaomi 14 series was the first to incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Xiaomi 15 display

Earlier leaks indicated that mass production of the Xiaomi 15 lineup is set to commence in September. The standard model will likely retain a flat display with a screen size similar to the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 13.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi 15 Pro is rumoured to sport a slightly curved 2K display with narrow bezels measuring 0.6 mm. Since there has been no official confirmation from Xiaomi regarding the 15 series, these details should be treated cautiously.

Xiaomi 15 specifications

The Xiaomi 14 series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, running on Xiaomi's HyperOS interface, and offering up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. These smartphones boast an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, LTPO OLED displays with up to 2K resolution, and a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. Additionally, they feature a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup.

Xiaomi 15 price and availability 

The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro were launched in China last October, with the former priced at CNY 3,999 (approximately INR 50,000) for the 8GB + 256GB variant, and the latter available for a starting price of CNY 4,999 (approximately INR 56,500) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. Meanwhile, there's no official information about their release in markets outside China.
