Yango Ride, a part of the global Yango Group, has released their annual Lost & Found stats for summer 2024-2025, giving us a quirky yet insightful glimpse of what riders abandon in their rides.
Yango specifically noted that the majority of items left behind across Pakistan were "shopping bags" (32%), "mobile phones" (31%), and "handbags" (10%). While corporate would-be thieves shouldn't be shocked about these items in the top three, they would certainly be puzzled about the rest of the weird stuff.
Among the weirdest finds were several weird items, including a baby milk bottle, a bucket of fried chicken wings (which the driver was probably tempted to try), and a canister of cooking oil (Just a plain old canister).
Other oddities included a drill machine, a rubab (The traditional instrument), and portable neck fans, a nod to just how hot summers can get.
While we don't mean to trivialise the list itself, Yango suggests it treats lost items with the utmost diligence and seriousness.
“We understand how important it is for passengers to retrieve what they’ve lost—whether it’s a high-value phone or something as personal as a childhood photograph,” said Yango Pakistan Country Head Miral Sharif. “Our customer support team works around the clock to make sure these incidents are handled with care, urgency, and transparency.”
Yango Ride has incorporated intelligent features into its app for efficiency. When a driver reports a misplaced item in the app, it sends an instant notification to the passenger and allows the passenger to contact the driver directly for a quick recovery.
The initiative reflects Yango’s wider commitment to customer trust and convenience. As Sharif summed it up: “Our goal is not only to move people but to move them with care. Even the forgotten things matter.”
