YouTube Music has finally rolled out its artificial intelligence (AI) powered radio feature, 'Ask Music', to more users, including international ones. This voice-enabled radio lets one customise playlists with simple voice prompts or text inputs.
What’s new in YouTube Music?
YouTube Music brings an innovative way of discovering new music and personalised playlists through its 'Ask Music' feature. Users can input a few words or sentences, and the AI algorithm would compile a custom playlist for them.
This feature comes with a membership to YouTube Premium and currently lives only on Android devices.
The new feature, 'Ask Music', is available in the Home feed as a purple card and can be launched with a tap. Users can provide prompts such as "80s-inspired indie" or "Saddest songs", which the AI will then translate into a shorter title and longer description.

However, by default, the playlist will auto-play the first track and users can save it to their library or provide feedback.
In recent weeks, 'Ask Music' has been rolled out to users in Canada and Australia, in addition to the US.
This also forms part of a plan laid down by Google to extend its availability beyond the initial testing phase in the US. While 'Ask Music' is currently only available on Android devices, it's expected to make its way to iOS soon, too.
YouTube Music is transforming the way we discover and listen to our favourite soon-to-be favourite-sets of tunes with 'Ask Music'.
