Like countless more districts and cities across Punjab, electric buses (e-buses) are on their way to District Taunsa after securing approval from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The launch of e-buses was announced by Punjab Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Usman Khalid, confirming that 15 electric buses will soon arrive in the district. This marks a major step towards modern and eco-friendly transport in the region.
The incoming electric buses in Taunsa are part of a broader initiative to improve public transport by offering cleaner and more comfortable options.
Once the buses reach Taunsa and Dera Ghazi Khan, the service is expected to spread to other areas and make travel easier for the public, while reducing air pollution.
During his recent visit to Taunsa, the Khalid was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Hashmi, Chief Officer District Council Jawad-ul-Hasan Gondal, and other officials.
While inspecting the General Bus Stand, he issued clear instructions to ensure better traffic management, outlining that all vehicles must be parked within the designated area. Any found outside will be removed, and strict action will be taken against illegal parking or encroachments.
This initiative reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to sustainable development and improved urban mobility for the people of Punjab.
