In a move aimed at expanding artificial intelligence (AI) use around its content offerings, Amazon Prime Video is reportedly gearing up to offer AI-assisted dubbing in English and Spanish for licensed movies and series.

According to Reuters, the video streaming giant has made the decision in order to increase its content's viewership and expand it to an even wider audience around the world.

Initially, the AI-driven dubbing for the selected two languages will be made available on 12 licensed movies and series. said the company, adding that the remarkable feature will exclusively work for titles that are currently lacking dubbing support.

With a global video content consumer base of over 200 million, Prime Video's development stands as a testament to how media companies are increasingly incorporating AI into their services and products, all to overhaul the user experience.

Last year, Walt Disney's ESPN network claimed to be testing AI integration for its recap show "SportsCenter" to strike it with a touch of personalisation so that it better serves the younger segment of its audience.
