The QR code scanner is a built-in feature that provides a quick and convenient way to scan codes using a smartphone camera.
Recently, Android introduced this QR scanner functionality built into the system with its own user interface (UI). Since the auto-zoom update, there have been no significant changes. However, Android is now likely to redesign its QR scanner with some new upgrades.
According to the Beta version 24.28.30 of Google Play services, a new redesigned interface for the Android QR code scanner is imminent. Users will be able to access this functionality through their Android phone's Quick Settings or by searching within the app drawer.

Currently, activating the QR code scanner opens a large viewfinder with two buttons at the top right of the screen. The bottom of the screen includes a "Scan from photo" option along with the gallery icon.
With the redesign, Google has integrated the flashlight, scan from photo, and feedback buttons into a new pill-shaped box, making it easier to access the QR code scanner with one hand. Additionally, the onscreen text "Scan QR code" has been moved into a pill-shaped box above the viewfinder, and the ‘close’ button has been removed with the new update.
Furthermore, Android is working on a new animation for the square viewfinder of its QR code scanner. However, it is not yet confirmed when these new updates will be widely available to Android users.
