AirLink Communication is reportedly in advanced talks to bring a new mobile phone brand for local assembly in Pakistan. At a recent corporate briefing, the company confirmed that suppliers are in talks but did not disclose the name of the brand.
AirLink Communication stated that they have already started preparations to integrate their new partner into the existing mobile assembly facility based in Lahore, which already assembles several international brands.
The momentum of Pakistan's mobile manufacturing industry has been strong in 2025. Official data shows that July output exceeded 3.5 million units, which is a remarkable increase of 123% year-on-year.
Such acceleration can be attributed to government policies that support domestic assembly instead of importing fully built units.
One of Pakistan's major mobile assemblers, AirLink Communication, said the introduction of a new brand would increase its production capabilities and would create further job opportunities locally.
The company noted that, while the total output has remained below potential, local manufacturing not only decreases its import dependence but also adds to the overall cost efficiency of its operations.
In earlier updates, AirLink said its Lahore facility is now set up for large-scale smartphone production and already delivers a fair share of mobile manufacturing output for Pakistan.
It is worth noting that the addition of another major brand would be a major boost for AirLink and better support the government's "Made in Pakistan" vision.
