Apple's latest iPhone 17 series sales have kicked off with an overwhelming response, outperforming the iPhone 16 in early sales across China and the United States.

Within just the first 10 days after launch, iPhone 17 sales rose 14% compared to the iPhone 16 in the same period, Reuters reported, citing a research firm Counterpoint.

Of the entire series, the standard iPhone 17 was found to be the best-selling variant, and this surge in popularity doubled its sales in China alone and posted a 31% increase in both markets.

The report highlighted that Apple’s strategy of offering more advanced features in the standard model without raising the price has gained a host of consumers.

“It’s a strong all-rounder,” said Senior Analyst Mengmeng Zhang. “Buyers are responding well to the improved specs and value.”

The iPhone 17 base model comes with a better chip, upgraded selfie camera, brighter display, and increased base storage at the same price as last year’s iPhone 16.

The enhanced feature richness has made it a popular choice for those seeking a premium experience without the Pro price tag.

Major countries where the iPhone 17 is available include the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Japan, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Turkey, the UAE, Vietnam, and Colombia, among others.
