Apple Maps, the default navigation app on the iOS devices, is finally available on the web. This significant move marks an expansion for Apple Maps, which has been steadily improving with several upgrades since its launch in 2012.

However, with the new upgrade of its web launch, Apple Maps is taking over its main competitor, Google Maps.

The Apple Map’s web version offers several of the same features as the iOS app has, including the driving and walking directions, ratings and reviews, and guides.

Users can also order food directly from the Maps along with an opportunity to explore cities. Apple plans to add more features in coming months, which include a new feature called Look Around.

How to access Apple Maps?

Apple Maps is available on web through a beta version, which can be accessed at beta.maps.apple.com website.

Availability of Apple Maps

The web version of Apple Maps currently supports only the English language and is compatible with Safari and Chrome on Mac and iPad, along with Chrome and Edge on Windows PCs.

It will add other languages, browsers, and platforms in the near future. In addition, utilising Apple's MapKit JS makes it simple for a developer to link out to Maps on the web; thus, it is easier than ever to integrate into their apps.
