Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone SE 4, but reports suggest it might skip a big event for the announcement. Instead, the company could announce the next-generation iPhone SE through a simple press release on its website, similar to how it launched some products recently.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple has increasingly relied on online announcements instead of hosting large events for some of its product launches.

iPhone SE 4 could arrive without big event

Apple has followed a quiet launch strategy for several recent products. Instead of an event, the company may release a short video to highlight the iPhone SE 4 features, similar to how it introduced M4 Macs last year with a week of online announcements.

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to bring major upgrades, including an edge-to-edge display and Face ID, replacing the older Home Button design. This will give the iPhone SE a modern look, making it more similar to the iPhone 14.

Key iPhone SE 4 features

The iPhone SE 4 is rumoured to come with:

  • A 48MP rear camera, a big upgrade over the previous model.
  • A USB-C port, following Apple’s transition away from Lightning connectors.
  • Apple’s first 5G modem, improving connectivity and network performance.

While it may not introduce features for those using the latest iPhones, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be a great option for users looking for a budget-friendly iPhone with a modern design.

New iPads and Macs may also be announced

Gurman also reported that stocks of iPad Air and MacBook Air are running low in Apple Stores. This suggests Apple might introduce updated versions with M4 chips soon. However, it is unclear whether these new products will be announced alongside the iPhone SE 4.
