Apple has taken a significant step to expand its retail footprint in India by launching a dedicated Apple Store app. This move is part of the company's efforts to capitalise on the growing consumer demand in the world's second-largest smartphone market.

Apple Store app in India

The Apple Store app is now available to download on India's App Store. According to the company, the app allows customers to purchase Apple products directly and receive personalised shopping recommendations.

Additionally, users can customise their Macs with upgraded chips, extra memory, or additional storage, and arrange for delivery or pickup of their purchases.

The app also features separate sections for products, personalised recommendations, and post-purchase support, including online setup sessions with Apple specialists.

Moreover, customers can sign up for free training sessions at physical Apple stores and explore Apple trade-in and financing options.

This development comes as Apple continues to strengthen its position in India, where it opened its first physical stores in Delhi and Mumbai in 2023.

Karen Rasmussen, Apple's head of retail online, stated: "At Apple, our customer is at the centre of everything we do, and we're thrilled to introduce the Apple Store app to reach even more users in India."

It's worth mentioning that the company also plans to launch four more stores in tech hub Bengaluru, Pune, and other parts of the capital city and Mumbai.
