Apple TV, a popular streaming service, has been limited to iPhone users for far too long. However, that is about to change as Apple is reportedly developing an Android version of the Apple TV app.

Android users can only access Apple TV through a web browser, which isn't ideal for watching live sports or discovering new content. The rumoured app will change this by providing a platform for Android users to enjoy Apple TV+ and other streaming services.

Apple has a history of developing apps for Android, including Apple Music and Shazam. These apps get frequent updates and offer the best user experience. An Apple TV app for Android will likely follow, offering features like offline downloads, picture-in-picture, and now content notifications.

The lack of an Apple TV app for Android has been a major drawback, especially for live sports enthusiasts. The move will boost Apple's services and bring the TV app to the party with Apple Music, which is already available on Android.

Apple TV is expanding the app to third-party platforms, including Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, and Xbox. The addition of an Android app will further broaden its reach, making it easier for non-iPhone users to access Apple TV+ and other streaming services.

While it is not clear when the Android version of the TV app will go live, the development is a welcome move for Android users. Once available, it will offer a seamless viewing experience, making it easier for users to discover and enjoy their favourite TV shows and sports.
