Atlas Honda, Pakistan's leading motorcycle brand, plans to launch its first electric bike by June 2025. With an 85% market share of the country's motorcycle sector, the company’s entry into the electric vehicle (EV) market could significantly accelerate the transition toward eco-friendly transportation.

Despite government incentives, electric motorcycles remain unpopular in Pakistan, making up less than 1% of total sales in 2024. Some key challenges include:

  • High upfront costs compared to petrol bikes
  • Limited charging stations across the country
  • Consumer concerns about battery life and performance

However, Atlas Honda’s strong brand reputation and vast dealer network may help boost the adoption of electric bikes in Pakistan.

Atlas Honda’s electric bike features

Atlas Honda will start producing 25,000 units in the initial phase, while an annual capacity of 8,000 motorbikes is planned. The company will keep 95% of the parts local, targeting affordable and trustworthy electric mobility.

  • Battery: 48-volt
  • Range: Up to 65 km per charge
  • Charging Time: 6-7 hours (portable charger included)
  • Price: Slightly higher than petrol bikes

By promoting its local production capacity, Atlas Honda will be able to offer improved quality and reduced prices, making electric motorcycles in Pakistan more viable for everyday riders.
