However, what captured the gaze of the masses during this Consumer Electronic Show 2024 (CES) during the initial exhibitions was the revamped face of the ASUS ASUS ZenBook DUO, striking the midpoint affordability and performance in the segment of dual-screen laptops.

What makes the ZenBook DUO (UX8406) outshine its predecessor, not to neglect other contenders in this arena, is its built-in kickstand which enables you to alter its display orientation in different positions as you please.

Both primary and secondary displays, connected with the keyboard, boast two fully functional OLED panels.
Besides a full-sized keyboard, there’s an add-on, an external component for its touchpad that slides over the bottom display, which makes it resemble a typical single-screened laptop.
Display overhaul
The standout characteristic of the ZenBook DUO 2024 model is its dual 14-inch 3K OLED displays. These screens feature a resolution of 2800 x 1800 pixels in a 16:10 aspect ratio, offer a 120 Hz refresh rate, and come with Dolby Vision certification. Additionally, they are safeguarded by Gorilla Glass for enhanced durability.
ZenBook DUO (UX8406) hardware
The device provides a choice among three Intel processors: the Ultra 9 Processor 185H, Ultra 7 Processor 155H, and Ultra 5 Processor 125H, complemented by onboard Intel Arc graphics. The standard configurations of the ZenBook DUO come equipped with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and users have the option to upgrade to 32 GB. Storage capacities start at 512GB SSDs for the basic models and extend to 2TB SSDs for the premium variants.
Connectivity and battery
In terms of physical connectivity, it features a solitary USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a lone HDMI 2.1 port, and a 3.5-millimeter audio jack.
The ASUS ZenBook DUO (2024) is powered by a 4-cell 75Wh battery. It asserts an impressive 13.5 hours of video playback time in single-screen mode and 10.5 hours in dual-screen mode.
Price and availability
With $1,500 being its base variant’s starting price, the laptop is expected to launch on a wider scale later this year.
