As the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, which kicked off yesterday, is making waves at the shore of top-notch technological innovations, an assortment of some extraordinary gaming laptops, too, left an indelible impression on spectators' minds. And two of them were the Asus ROG Strix Scar 16 and ROG Strix Scar 18.

Among myriad options for gaming laptops shown off at CES 2025, the two contenders stood out for possessing a capability others did not: user-upgradeability which does not even require tools or screws to access.

The two gaming beasts come packed with an upgrade system which is free from tools, enabling users to access it barehand, as per Tom's Guide.

On the redesigned ROG Strix Scar 16 and 18, this convenience is brought to the table by using a magnetic latching system which allows users to open the bottom panel of the laptops and access their internal components within seconds.

The most notable property of these seamlessly upgradeable systems is that you can reach the RAM and M.2 SSD and swap them out without even requiring a screwdriver.

Individuals having to upgrade the RAM of these devices can slide in up to 64GB of DDR5-5600 memory, and up to 4TB of PCIe 4 SSDs in RAID 0.

Offering slight upgradation and repairing in such a breezy and pleasant way is truly commendable, for this is how Asus broke free from traditional laptops' manner of allowing to access internal components like memory, storage and battery.
