Chery Pakistan has created buzz in the automotive industry with hints about the launch of the Tiggo 9. Although the company hasn't officially announced the specifications, there are indications that the vehicle might be available in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and petrol engine (ICE) versions.
Meanwhile, the Cherry Tiggo 9 is already available in several international markets. The Tiggo 9 is a mid-size crossover SUV, but it sits in the upper segment, offering more features compared to its sibling. This would give Pakistani buyers another premium SUV option.
Tiggo 9 features (International)
The Tiggo 9 retains its 2.0-litre turbo engine and focuses on equipment adjustments rather than major styling changes. The Tiggo 9X, a lower trim, comes with minor exterior advancements.
Meanwhile, the Tiggo 9 PHEV combines a 1.5L turbo petrol engine with a front electric motor and a 3-speed hybrid transmission.
The PHEV carries a 19.43 kWh lithium battery that supports fast charging. The company noted that drivers will get:
- Pure EV range (CLTC): enough for daily city commutes without using fuel.
- Combined range (WLTC): over 1,400 km when the tank and battery are both full — great for long trips without “range anxiety.”
It is worth noting that if the company launches the Tiggo 9 in Pakistan, commuters may have an advanced option in a crossover SUV with new features.
Tiggo 9 launch date
According to the sources, Cherry Pakistan is likely to launch the Tiggo 9 next week.
