Chery Master Pakistan has officially confirmed that it will start local assembly of Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 9 models in Pakistan.
During a PR event, the Master Group (which now owns Chery in Pakistan) stated that local production of Chery cars is set to begin by January 2026.
Along with the local production facility, Chery Master plans to introduce both models as locally assembled vehicles rather than completely built-up (CBU) imports.
Master Auto Engineering CEO Samir Malik said: “Our collaboration with Chery Automobile Ltd. represents an important step toward developing Pakistan’s local automotive production capacity and introducing new energy vehicle technologies to the market.”
Moreover, the company is expanding its nationwide dealership network, which is expected to include 10 dealerships across Pakistan.
The PR event mentioned Chery’s plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology, but it did not confirm whether this technology will be introduced in the locally assembled models, particularly the Tiggo 9 PHEV.
Chery has been recognised for its quality performance, ranking first among Chinese automotive brands in J.D. Power’s Quality Ratings.
With the production of Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 9, this move marks a major step for Chery’s re-entry and expansion in Pakistan’s crossover SUV market.
