Chrome to reintroduce THIS famous customisation button after four years

Google was previously under speculation to bring back Chrome for Android's bottom-aligned address bar. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), @Leopeva64 shared that the latest setting submenu spotted in Chrome Canary, along with the older screenshots from the Chromium Gerrits hint at its return.

Popular customisation button returns after four years

Several Chromium-based web browsers let Android users place the address bar in the middle of the screen such as  Vivaldi and Kiwi Browser, and more. However, Alphabet-owned Google’s interface is still awaiting to receive the update in user-facing settings.

Chrome is set to offer a few significant niche features including both old and new, inside the interface accessed at Chrome: //flags. These flags have made it possible to progress the address bar down for different variants after Google separated the option from the apparent settings menu.

The reason behind Google withdrawing an overwhelming feature in the first place is still under wraps.

According to the @Leopeva64, the lines from the Chrome pre-beta build last week. Additionally, considering the time elapsed since the option withdrawal, several customisable web browsers on Android. 

Certainly, its return would not entice the former users back to Google’s browser. However, it is likely to reduce the requirement for current Chrome users to frequently tap on the top of the screen only to get access to the current page's URL.
