Dark theme on Google Drive for web on its way

Users will have to click on gear icon in top-right corner of Google Drive, then Settings, then General, and then Appearance to activate dark theme

User interface can also have a vital role in enhancing user experience, and that is why Google is now eyeing to introduce a dark theme on the web version of its Google drive.

Although the search engine giant is not quite impressed by the idea of adopting dark themes, as only a handful of Google apps and services offer a night mode, the addition of a dark theme on Google drive comes to be the latest.

Since the dark theme's integration into the cloud storage service in the works, Google Drive on web will prompt users by “New! Dark mode” to “Continue to enjoy Drive in the dark.”

Then to activate the dark theme, users will have to click on the gear icon in the top-right corner, then Settings, then General, and then Appearance. It's imperative to note that the dark theme on Google Drive's web version does not adopt your device theme by default.

Other preferences to be offered are reportedly designed for Start page (Home or My Drive) and Density (Comfortable, Cozy, Compact), as per 9to5Google.

The to-be-featured dark them on Google's cloud storage service appears to be very simplistic, as it does not applies to pages other than file view. and the UI of the Docs, Sheets, Slides and more, would remain intact even after the addition of dark them. However, the hues of background (sidebar, search bar, etc.) would get lighter and somewhat gray, and darker/blacker hues would be of the inner container.
