A week following Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meetup with tech billionaire Elon Musk in Washington, the world's leading electric vehicle (EV) maker Tesla has begun spearheading recruitment in India with a full-scale market entry on the horizon.

Reuters reported that the is currently on the lookout for the induction of senior staff for Tesla in India, citing job advertisements circulated by the company earlier this week.

That being said, the development indicates that the Musk-owned automaker is gearing up to penetrate the world's third-biggest auto market.

It was learned that its Indian market entry has for years been on Tesla cards, part of which might as well be formed by the establishment of a Tesla manufacturing facility in India.

The renowned EV maker back in 2022 hired some senior executives who reportedly quit Tesla after it exercised restraint regarding the company's expansion plans for India at the time.

Tesla has also been sifting the Indian land to set up a showroom in India since late 2024. At the moment, there are 13 positions listed open on the company's website as well as on LinkedIn, revolving around different customer-facing and back-end roles based in Mumbai, the financial hub of India.
