Elon Musk's X, formally called Twitter, is set to launch an app for video and television. This upcoming upgrade was rumoured to launch last month, however, recently the Tesla CEO responded to the rumour saying that the app is coming soon.
This new upgrade will include an optimised algorithm and will be compatible with most smart televisions. Taking to X, the 52-year-old billionaire stated that the new app is changing everything. He claimed that the upcoming feature will provide a high-quality immersive experience.
Although the launch date is not yet confirmed, reports suggest that the app will bring real-time engaging content to smart TVs, featuring a trending algorithm that will help users stay up-to-date with popular content along with AI-powered topics.
A unique feature will be introduced in which the app will support cross-device viewing, which means users can start watching a video on their phone and then continue watching it on their TV with a video search option.
The upcoming app launch is part of the efforts to transform the social media site into a free-speech "video-first" platform. The social network currently features an original show hosted by former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and another by former Fox Sports host Jim Romme.
According to Forbes, the most surprising feature will be that the app will have no ads at the time of launch.
