It has been discovered that a complex online scam uses false Facebook ads to target customers of Habib Bank Limited (HBL).

The fraudulent campaign advertises a phoney HBL mobile banking app, claiming to be the "updated 2025 version".

By impersonating the official HBL platform, the phishing website asks gullible victims for sensitive card information, such as card numbers, CVV codes, expiration dates, cardholder names, and mobile numbers.

In order to look authentic, the website mimics the bank's branding and visual components and uses a different URL from the official HBL website.

Customers of HBL are urged to be extremely cautious to avoid becoming victims of this scam.

How to stay safe from fake HBL scams?

Download mobile apps only from reliable sources, such as the official HBL website https://www.hbl.com/ and the Google Play Store's verified HBL Mobile App.

Never give out private credit card information on unreliable websites.

Inform HBL and the appropriate authorities, like the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), about any dubious ads or websites.

A distinct "2025 version" of HBL's mobile app has not been made available.

Consumers are advised to exercise caution and confirm all banking correspondence via authorised HBL channels.
