Apple is developing all-screen foldable gadgets. Unlike its rivals, it appears to be more focused on an all-screen foldable laptop. The Cupertino-based company is intending to unveil an “all-screen” M5 MacBook in 2026.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the company is scheduled to release the 20.3-inch MacBook in 2027; however, it has changed the release date to 2026.

The users can think of the details related to the new laptop before the release. Kuo stated that various foldable screen choices are on the table, and he believes the gadget to support a 20.3-inch display, however, it could end up at 18.8 inches.

"The difference between these two sizes is their folded form factor, corresponding to the design of 14–15" and 13–14" laptops, respectively," Kuo stated in an article.

Moreover, Kuo said, “Apple aims to make the panel as crease-free as possible, requiring high design specifications for both the panel and the hinge. As a result, the cost of the panel and hinge is very high. Current preliminary estimates put the panel and hinge costs at around $600–650 and $200–250, respectively.”

With such expensive rates, the laptop itself is believed to be hardly affordable. Kuo stated, "Unless Apple can significantly improve yields and reduce costs before mass production, the BOM cost of the foldable MacBook could approach that of the current Vision Pro.”

The MacBook is likely to boast an M5 series chipset, although the gadget is still a rumour for users.
